Blue Angels drop final road game at ONU
Bourbonnais, IL- A busy and demanding final week of the season continued on Friday for the MMU softball team. They traveled to Illinois to take on Olivet Nazarene University in a single contest.
MMU would claim an early lead but it did not hold up as Olivet Nazarene took the day's game by a final score of 14-1.
The Blue Angels would score 1st, Lily Day provided a run scoring singe to shoot MMU out to 1-0 lead. Taylor Hames and Kylie Ann Kluck also reached on walks in the first.
ONU would answer with three runs in the bottom of the 1st, and they would add five runs in the second to take an 8-1 advantage.
The Tiger pitching would shut down the Blue Angel bats and the ONU offense would add on to pull away for a 14-1 victory.
Day's rbi single provided the only offense for MMU on the day.
The Blue Angels (0-37, 0-25) will have two more chances against ONU on Saturday, this time at home. The doubleheader is scheduled for 12 and 2 pm. It will be Senior Day for the MMU softball program, Taylor Hames and Kylie Ann Kluck will be recognized in a ceremony in between games.
