Coach Perry Clark joined the Mount Mary University Athletic Department to begin the 2017-18 season. After a long tenure coaching in the NJCAA, coach Perry decided to join the Blue Angels with decades of coaching experience.
Along with being the co-founder and CEO of Northern Illinois Thunder Softball for 18 years, coach Clark has been coaching with the Waubonsee Community College softball team since 1997. Starting as an associate coach Perry Clark quickly worked his way to head coach at WCC. Once at the helm, coach Clark accumulated a record of 350-232.
During his tenure at WCC, coach Clark earned eight Illinois Skyway Conference Coach of the Year awards, Region IV Coach of the Year and was selected to coach in the Region IV All-Star game on two separate occasions.
Along with those collegiate coaching accolades, coach Clark and the WCC Chiefs earned 10 conference championships, made 19 Region IV tournament appearances with five of those appearances making it to the regional championship.
Along with multiple community activities, coach Clark is an active member at the St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church as a high school religious educator and as a member of the pastoral council.
Coach Clark will bring his decades of coaching and recruiting experience to the Blue Angels softball program that reached new heights in 2016-17, when the team set multiple school records including most wins in a season (14).
After coach Clark continued his long track record of establishing a program with a deep recruiting pool and then golf coach, Rob Elliott, stepped down from his position, the Blue Angels extend coach Clark a full-time position that included head golf coach as well. Along with his overwhelming softball coaching exeperience, coach Clark has also worked with youths at local park districts in the past. A long time lover of the game of golf, coach Clark has over 20 years exerpience on the links.
