Glendale, WI- Seeking their first victory of the season, the Mount Mary University softball team hosted Indiana University South Bend in a CCAC doubleheader on Wednesday.
Indiana South Bend proved too tough to stop in both contests as they defeated Mount Mary by scores of 18-0 and 23-2.
In game one, the Titans would plate three runs in the top of the 1st. Taylor Hames and Lily Day would provide singles in the bottom of the frame, but both were left stranded.
IUSB would put up a larger number in the 2nd, scoring seven runs to establish a 10-0 lead.
The Titans would hang on from that point for an 18-0 victory. Anna Corpas Salcedo added a single and Kylie Ann Kluck provided a defensive highlight when she made a running catch and cut down a South Bend runner at the plate for an impressive double play.
Game two began with IUSB staying red hot at the plate. The Titans would bat around in the top of the first and take a 12-0 lead.
The Blue Angels bounced back with two runs in the bottom of the first, contributing to the rally were Alex Eads, Taylor Hames, Lily Day and Kylie Ann Kluck.
That would prove to be the end of the offense on the day for MMU. South Bend continued to add on and won game two by a final score of 23-2.
