Phoenix, Ariz. --- The Mount Mary University Blue Angels competed in the last double header of their spring break trip. They took on the Warriors of Nelson University. In game one, the Warriors grabbed a dominant win in five innings, 26-3. The Warriors also got the win in game two in five innings, 11-3.
Game One:
Taylor Hames (Sugar Grove, Ill.) and Layla Rambousek (Belgium, Wis.) recorded RBIs for the Blue Angels. Hames, Lily Day (Hinckley, Ill.), and Rambousek put up big appearances at the plate. The Blue Angels could not compete with the aggressiveness of the Warriors. Nelson took the win in five innings, 26-3.
Game Two:
The Blue Angels got things going at the top of the third inning. Hames got the party started when she singled to center field. Day came up clutch, hitting a single that scored Hames. Amanda Nance (Antioch, Ill.) swung herself onto base, which advanced Day. Kylie Ann Kluck (St. Francis, Wis.) hit a huge double for the Blue Angels and scored Day. The groove did not stop for Mount Mary as Tina Finley (Canyon Country, Calif.) stepped up to the plate. She grounded out but scored an RBI as Nance crossed home plate. After three, the score was tied 3-3. The Warriors found their momentum in the fourth inning and never looked back. They won the game in five innings, 11-3.
The Blue Angels will take two weeks off before they return next.
