Onan Named Blue Angels Spotlight Player
Becky Onan leads the AD3I in saves and earns MMU Spotlight Player.
MILWAUKEE – Becky Onan (Fr./Grafton, Wis.) has been selected as the Mount Mary University Spotlight Player.
Onan has simply been stellar in goal this season for the Blue Angels. Since game one, Onan has been busy leading the Assosciation of Division III Independents in saves. In the 2014 season, she has registered 80 saves on the year, and is second in AD3I in save percentage with just over 79%.
Sept. 20 marked Becky Onan’s first collegiate shutout, when the Blue Angels supplemented her performance with a 3-0 victory. The MMU soccer team is 2-4 on the year, and the wins have come in games where the opponent scored 1 and 0 goals respectively. The freshman has started off her NCAA career with the poise and resilience of a veteran. The only time Becky Onan has taken a break from goalie was against Eureka College, when she tested her offensive capabilities and added a goal to her stat line.
