Laura Sanders Resigns as Head Cross Country Coach
The Mount Mary University Athletic Department has announced that Laura Sanders has resigned as head cross country coach. Sanders served in the position for the last three seasons.
Sanders had this to say regarding her departure, "I am incredibly thankful for my time at Mount Mary. I am proud of what I helped the program achieve. When I first started at Mount Mary, we were dealing with a small roster, and the team had not competed since before the pandemic. In my first season we were able to field a team and collect our first program win in a dual meet against Alverno. I wish the team and athletic department the best."
In her tenure at the helm of the MMU cross country team, the program made great strides in runner participation, completion of meets, and the times of the individual runners. Director of Athletics Natalie Balleto said this, "We are thankful for what Laura has brought to the Cross-Country program and our Mount Mary community. Her focus on the students experience as a whole was impressive. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors."
A search for a new leader of the Blue Angel cross country team is currently underway.
