Milwaukee, Wis. --- The Mount Mary University Blue Angels opened homecoming week with a conference matchup against the Judson Eagles. In the first matchup between the Blue Angels and Eagles, the Eagles won 3-1. The Eagles were able to win this match, 3-0.

Summary Of The Match:
The Eagles started set one on a six-point run. The Blue Angels scored their first point from Andriana White (Erin, Tenn.), 6-1. The Blue Angels then went on a short three-point run to bring the score to 9-5. The Eagles scored another three straight points before the Blue Angels came in hot. Kills from Lilly Severson (Cottage Grove, Wis.) Fincher and Saucedo Salas brought MMU within one, 12-11. Late in set one, the Eagles found their groove and began to pull away from the Blue Angels. They won the set, 25-17.
Set two started the same as set one. The Eagles scored five straight points. Rosalinda Palacios (Chicago, Ill.) was set by Fincher to score for the Blue Angels, 6-3. Judson was able to score three points, 10-4. Fincher secured herself a kill, down 10-6. The Eagles then took control and attacked the Blue Angels, bringing the score to 17-8. Fincher and Saucedo Salas scored aces, but it would not be enough to stop the Eagles. Judson took set two, 25-13.
Set three started in favor of the Blue Angels. Saucedo Salas and Palacios secured a block to score the first point. The Eagles went on a six-point run to regain the lead, 7-3. The Blue Angels went on a four-point streak of Saucedo Salas kills and a Manthey ace, 13-12. Judson then scored four points, 17-12. The Eagles would not let the Blue Angels creep back in. They won the set 25-18 and won the match 3-0.
The Blue Angels will take a one-day break and will be back on Thursday, October 2nd. They will play at 6:00 p.m. against Governors State.
