NCAA Era Series: Tied 5-5
The Blue Angels will be traveling to Hancock, Mich. for their next contest. These two teams have squared off 10 times since MMU joined the NCAA, but this will be the first time the teams face as conference opponents.
Last season, these two teams split the two game series; each home team took away a shutout win.
This season both teams are searching for their first victory in 2015-16. The most recent loss for the Lions coming at the hands of Martin Luther College with a 11-0 final score.
The Blue Angels are 0-4 on the young season. As the team learns the new system, the new coach, and the new teammates, the defense has continued to be solid.
The defense has cut down on big leads, and has chipped away the barrage of shots from the other team for the most part. Most recently, however, the Blue Angels lost a 6-0 game to Blackburn who outshot MMU 47-2. The game gave last year's AD3I Goalkeeper of the Year a big boost in saves, and Becky Onan (So./Grafton) now has 63 in just four games.
If the strong defense can hold up against a Finlandia team that has one goal in four games, the Blue Angels should compete until the final horn.
