Blue Angels Travel To Crown College
The Crown College Strom from St. Bonifacius, Minn. are going up against the Mount Mary Blue Angels Soccer team at the KlienBank Stadium starting at 7:15 pm on Sept. 12.
MILWAUKEE -- The Crown College Strom from St. Bonifacius, Minn. are going up against the Mount Mary Blue Angels Soccer team at the KlienBank Stadium starting at 7:15 pm on Sept. 12.
The Storm are now (1-2-1) on the season. Crown College is coached by Jamie Ross who is in his fourth year as head coach. The last game for the Storm was against St. Kate's with a final score of 0-6 in favor of St. Kate's. Hillary Brondsema (Sr./Huron, S.D.) led the way for Crown College with 11 out of 17 saves.
The last time Crown college met up with the Blue Angels, Crown got out to a 2-0 in the first half, and would keep Mount Mary on their heels for most of the second half as the Blue Angels would just have one shot on goal by Emily Ristow (Jr./Sheboygan, Wis.) who would score the lone goal for MMU. Storm member, Megan Wright (Jr./Newton, Iowa), would have the game of her career so far, as she would set Crown College's all-time record for goals in a single game with six.
The Mount Mary University soccer team is (1-2) on the season. The last win for MMU came against Eureka College with final score of 5-1. Emily Ristow would lead the Blue Angels in goals by completing her hat-trick with just 15 seconds left on the clock. Goalie Becky Onan (Fr./Cedarburg, Wis.), who leads the Association of Division III Independents in saves, added five saves to her tally and would get a break from the goal box as she would hit her first college goal against Eureka.
Mount Mary University will then head further into the "land of ten thousand lakes", as they face North Central University at the Coon Rapids Soccer Complex. The game will start at 2:00 pm on Sept. 13. Live stats will be available for the North Central University game.
