Softball completes season series with Indiana South Bend
South Bend, IN- The Mount Mary softball team traveled east to South Bend, Indiana on Tuesday to take on the Titans of Indiana University South Bend.
The game was certainly a competitive affair, but in the end the Titans would claim victory by a score of 9-1.
IUSB struck first and established a 3-0 lead. Layla Rambousek provided an RBI single in the top of the second to bring MMU within 2 runs at 3-1. Ayja Cushman also provided an early hit for the Blue Angels.
The bottom of the inning did go Mount Mary's way unfortunately, as South Bend plated four more runs to take a 7-1 lead.
The Titans would add two more runs for the final margin at 9-1. Rambousek added a second hit for the Blue Angels, Alex Eads collected a single, and Kylie Ann Kluck drew two walks.
Mount Mary (0-29, 0-17 CCAC) continues to show progress through their season, playing IUSB in a much closer fashion than they did in the previous meetings.
Next up for the Blue Angels will be a weekend series against the Trolls of Trinity Christian. That series will begin with a single road game on Friday, April 17th, and will continue with a home doubleheader on Saturday, April 18th.
