Blue Angels fall in CCAC Debut
Davenport, IA- On Friday, the Mount Mary University softball team took the field for the first time since returning from their Spring trip to Arizona. Friday's contest at St. Ambrose University was also the first ever softball game for the Blue Angels in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Friday saw Mount Mary and St. Ambrose play the first game of a 3 game weekend series. The Fighting Bees of SAU plated two runs in the 1st inning and never looked back. St Ambrose defeated MMU by a final score of 14-0.
The 4th inning proved to be the undoing of the Blue Angels, with the Bees scoring seven runs to extend their lead to 11-0.
Mount Mary (0-13) tallied two hits on the day, with Alex Eads and Taylor Hames each collecting hits.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday, with a doubleheader in Iowa scheduled for games at 12 and 2 pm. All live coverage will be available here on www.mtmaryathletics.com
