SOMERS, Wis. – The Mount Mary University cross country team finished 12th today at the Lucian Rosa Invitational on UW-Parkside's campus. The five kilometer race at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course was host to 16 women's teams and 182 runners.

The Blue Angels did not get the top team finish they were looking for, but against the region's top talent and the span of NCAA division I, II and III teams MMU runners all had season's best times. The Blue Angels finished ahead of Trinity International, Roosevelt and were just points behind NACC foe MSOE.

Finishing ahead of the MMU pack, Jori Galles (So./Waukesha, Wis.) finished with a 42 place finish and a 20:33.3 time. Just steps behind her, Natalie Guyette (Jr./Shiocton, Wis.) completed her collegiate best 20:42.7 5k time.

The bulk of the scoring finished within 20 seconds of each other. Danielle Sherrer (Sr./Milwaukee, Wis.) had her best NCAA performance also finishing at 22:25.1 in 71st place. Then Hayley Hove (Jr./Golden Valley, Minn.) cut serious time down with a 22:40.5 mark.

The rookie Christina Ishaq (Fr./Milwaukee, Wis.) rounded up the scoring with a 77th place finish and a 22:44.5 time.

Now the Blue Angels will continue to cut their times as they set their sights on the Wisconsin Private College Championships hosted by rival Alverno. The race is Sat. Oct. 17 beginning at 11:00 am.
