Chicago, Ill. --- The Mount Mary University Blue Angels hit the road on Saturday to play under the lights at Saint Xavier University. The Cougars' big first-half set them up for success as they scored five first-half goals. The Blue Angels were able to hold the Cougars scoreless in the second half but were unable to score any goals of their own. The Cougars won the matchup 5-0.
Both Blue Angel goalies saw time between the posts. Anna Corpas Salcedo (Santa Fe Springs, Calif.) picked up five saves while Brianna Brown (San Diego, Calif.) added three saves with no goals against.
The Blue Angels added the most shots on goal all season. Corpas Salcedo, Lydia Omernik (Wauwatosa, Wis.), and Mamah Konneh (Milwaukee, Wis.) were the Blue Angels who broke through and found room to shoot on goal. Gabriela Chagas (Brasilia, Brazil) also added a shot.
The Blue Angels soccer team will get back on the road on Tuesday, October 21st.
