The Mount Mary featured athlete of the week is Deja Rivers. Deja is a first year student from Kenosha, Wisconsin.  Deja has started all nine games so far for the Blue Angel Basketball team, she is currently averaging over 16 points and 8 rebounds per game, while shooting an impressive 43% from the floor.   

Why did you choose Mount Mary?

  I chose Mount Mary because I felt like it was the perfect fit for me it stood out to me in so many positive ways.

 What has been the highlight of your time at MMU?

So far my highlight at MMU is giving coach Steffen his first win at Mount Mary and snapping two long program losing streaks.

 What are your plans and goals after graduation?

My plan is to start my own business and leave a good impact on the MMU community 

 Why would you tell a prospective student to come to Mount Mary?

I will tell them to come to MMU because they have so many resources and that it has such an welcoming community
