Time for the Blue Angels basketball team to host Northland College (0-1). This early season contest will be played at the Bloechl Center on Tuesday Nov. 25th with tipoff at 6:00 pm.

Mount Mary University (0-4) is at the dawn of the 2014-15 season, and while the program is beginning the foundation of a successful team the learning process is underway. A new crop of recruits has been a much needed boost to the Blue Angels. A roster riddled with freshman, has already seen a few step up to become productive members of the team.

Jasmine Meyer (Fr./Lansing, Kan.) has already made her presence known to Blue Angels fans. In the first four games, Meyer has averaged 9.2 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game, leading her team in both categories. Also taking care of the ball, Meyer leads her team with 1.2 turnovers per game.

Along with Meyer, Chrisandra Freeman (Fr./Cedar Rapids, Iowa) has helped out big time. Freeman had to take over some of the point guard duties after an injury to Shandrieka Richardson (Jr./Atlanta, Ga.). Throughout the season, Freeman has averaged 8.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg, and now leads the team with 1.8 assists per game.

The contest against Northland College is the seventh installment since the Blue Angels joined the NCAA in 2009. The Lumberjills lead the all-time series at 6-0. In both contests last season, the Blue Angels lost to NC by 15 points, while the Lumberjills averaged 23 three point attempts in those games the Blue Angels post dominated the glass averaging over 40 rebounds.

With a new pedigree of talent in the lineup this year for MMU, the young Blue Angels team poses a good matchup for the Lumberjills outside game.

Following the game against Northland College, the Blue Angels will have a chance to enjoy Thanksgiving with their families. Once back from break, MMU will get set to play the Moody Bible Institute on Wednesday Dec. 3rd. The game against MBI will be played in the Bloechl Center with a 6:00 pm tip time.
