Cross Country Recap: CCAC Championships
Bourbonnais, IL- The Mount Mary Blue Angel Cross Country team concluded their season Saturday as they traveled to Olivet Nazarene University for the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship. MMU had five runners complete the race and the Blue Angels finished ninth in the team standings.
The first finisher for Mount Mary was Maya Morales in 77th place, Morales finished at 29.04.
Next up for the Blue Angels was Jennifer Villarreal in 93rd. Villarreal, a senior from Whitewater, Wisconsin, concludes her career at a MMU having been a rock solid contributor for the Blue Angels. In four seasons, she completed over 25 races for Mount Mary.
The next three finishers for MMU were Natalia Valdez, Taylor Hames and Lily Day. The three Blue Angels finished in 94th, 95th, and 96th place consecutively.
The 2025 season was a historic campaign for the MMU cross country team. It was the first under head coach Brady Hunt, and the first season for Mount Mary as members of the NAIA and the CCAC. Growth and success certainly seem to be on the horizon after the foundation that was built in 2025.
