Last week, Nelson and the Blue Angels played a pair of games west of the Mississippi. On the two-game road trip, Nelson helped her team with a combined 34 assists. The consistent play from the junior has her sitting in seventh place overall in the American Collegiate Athletic Association in assists per set: 4.3.

With 185 assists on the season, Nelson has more than 150 more assists than her next teammate. Fourth on the team with 109 digs on the season, Nelson finds multiple ways to contribute to her team and be effective. To this point in the season, the junior leads her team with 18 service aces.
