MILWAUKEE – Following another timely performance, Jori Galles (Sr./Waukesha, Wis.) has been named the next Blue Angels Spotlight Player. For the second straight week, Galles finished ahead of the Blue Angels pack, and most recently placed 21st out of a 140 runner field at the Ken Weidt Classic.
It seems that Galles is perpetually leading the Blue Angels in each cross country event. Last week, Galles set the pace for her team finishing with a time of 25:49.1 and her 21st place finish. As Galles has finished with the top time in nearly every race she has participated in, it seems her hard work is spreading throughout the roster.
Along with Galles finishing in the top of recent races, Christina Ishaq (Jr./Milwaukee, Wis.) has attempted to follow Galles nearly step for step. The two have finished within four seconds of each other in each race this season, and mid race always seem to be hip-to-hip.
With the high placing of Galles and the plummeting times from Ishaq, the Blue Angels have been in the middle of each race and look to continue that trend this weekend when they head to the campus of University of Wisconsin Whitewater to race in the Tom Hoffman Invitational for the first time in school history.
