MILWAUKEE – Following another solid performance from the sophomore, Rae Grubbs (So./Covington, Ind.) is the next Blue Angels Spotlight Player. The shifty guard-forward combo continues to provide consistent offense for her team this season as she uplifts her squad by example.
Continually second or third every game in scoring, Rae Grubbs grinds out each contest with an inspiring effort. Averaging 34.8 minutes per game, the guard is third on the team in scoring with 7.7 points per game, second on her team with 2.7 made free throws per game, second on her team with 1.6 assists per game and leads her squad with the best assist to turnover ratio at 0.7.
Although not as attention grabbing as other stats, Grubbs’ work at the charity strip has made a major impact on the team this season. While Grubbs is second on the team with made free throws, she is fourth in the Association of Division III Independents in free throw percentage with 70.6.
Grubbs and the Blue Angels continue to hit the hardwood this week as they host Lincoln Christian University (2-9). MMU leads the all-time series against the Red Lions at 6-1, although the teams have not played since 2015. Stop by the Bloechl Center Fri. Jan. 12 at 5:30 pm to see the two teams in action, or visit mtmaryathletics.com for live video and stats of the game.
