OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Senior Becky Onan (Grafton, Wis.) has been named the next Association of Division III Independents women's basketball Player of the Week. In her final game as a Blue Angel, Onan earned a double-double against rival Maranatha Baptist University (10-14) with 17 points and ten rebounds to add to her amazing career. (AD3I Press Release)
After four seasons at Mount Mary, Becky Onan now leads the program in a myriad of categories: points, assists, total rebounds, defensive rebounds, blocks, steals and minutes played. Even in the short history of MMU, Onan's averages standout among the best and spread across the entirety of basketball's statistical columns.
To end her collegiate career, Onan held true to her averages and filled out the stat-sheet against Maranatha Baptist University last Tuesday. Further reflecting her impact in the MMU annals, against the rival Sabercats, Onan led her team in points, assists, total rebounds, defensive rebounds, blocks, steals and minutes played. This is the second time Onan has earned the Association of Division III Independent women's basketball Player of the Week honor this season. In every season prior, Onan has represent Mount Mary on the respective all-association/all-conference teams. This season, Onan is in the top ten in five of the major statistical categories.
