Blue Angels Host Royal Ball

Blue Angels Host Royal Ball

MILWAUKEE – Tonight on the campus of Mount Mary University, the fifth annual Special Olympics Ball will be held for the family, friends and participants of Special Olympics Wisconsin. This year the Mount Mary University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, who planned and setup the event, is proud to bring a royal theme to this year's festivities.

MMU SAAC has continued a relationship with Special Olympics Wisconsin that goes beyond the last five years of annual celebration for the Olympians. The long-standing relationship has included multiple fundraisers over the years. Another recurrent event the SAAC Blue Angels work on is the Polar Plunge. An event that again raises money for Special Olympics Wisconsin.

SAAC Committee Chairs Haley Jacquez and Adrianna Nester have been organizing the Special Olympics Ball following a standout year at the Polar Plunge. An estimated 2500 dollars were donated through the Blue Angels Polar Plunge efforts. And this year's ball hopes to match that total which would eclipse the 1500 dollars donated in 2018.

SAAC will hold a fundraiser in the form of a silent auction during the ball. Multiple gift baskets and items have been donated from local business surrounding the school and individual donors as well. Attendees will have a chance to bid on the items with all the proceeds going directly to Special Olympics Wisconsin.

Tonight the Blue Angels will also help set the stage along with join the festivities. Stocked full with a DJ, dancing, appetizers and fun the night is sure to be enjoyed by all in attendance. The Mount Mary University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is proud to host this year's Special Olympics Ball.
