MILWAUKEE – The Mount Mary University basketball team continues action this week as they host their first home game of 2018. The Red Lions will come to the Bloechl Center this Friday for the first time since the 2014-15 season. Although LCU won that contest, the Blue Angels enjoy a 6-1 all-time series lead over the Red Lions.

Following a tough 2-point loss on Sun. Jan. 7, the Blue Angels look to bounce back against the Red Lions. Nine games into the 2017-18 season, MMU has found a bulk of their scoring options between their two starting forwards.

Becky Onan (Sr./Grafton, Wis.) leads the team again with 13.4 points per game, 6.2 defensive rebounds per game, 1.9 steals per game and an Association of Division III Independents leading 2.0 blocks per game. If the senior forward keeps that pace of scoring for the remaining 12 games of the season, she will go down, officially, as the only Mount Mary player to record 1000 or more career points.

Erica Williams (Fr./Bloomington, Ill.) has been an instant impact for the Blue Angels in her first collegiate season. The forward has ripped down a team leading 8.6 rebounds per game and scores 10.3 points per game while shooting an AD3I leading 54.4 percent from the field.

This season, the Red Lions average 52.5 points per game while shooting 31.3 percent from the field. Although LCU spreads their minutes out throughout their roster, three Red Lions score a majority of those 52.5 points per game: Katie Dial (13.3), Becca Adams (12.2) and Kenzi Schlipf (10.1).
