MILWAUKEE-- Beginning the 2016-17 season, Mount Mary University Athletics will move to BoxCast for all of their live streaming.
"One of the things that has been important to all of our recruits whether they live 2 hours or 2 time zones away is whether or not friends and family back home would be able to see them play." Director of Athletics Marc Heidorf added, " With our partnership with BoxCast, not only is that answer 'yes' but now with a higher quality, no ads interrupting the action, and far more home games than we have ever broadcast before."
The move to BoxCast will bring fans full HD quality streams for all Blue Angels basketball and volleyball home games. In addition, the change will also begin the preliminary stages of live streaming for Blue Angels soccer and softball.
Viewers will still be able to watch their favorite Blue Angel on mtmaryathletics.com and will now have more options for choice of device. Streamed Blue Angels games will be available via Roku, AppleTV, multiple next generation gaming consoles, all smart devices, laptops and desktops.
The multi-platform broadcasting aims to make streaming available for Blue Angels fans all over the globe. "This (partnership) is a great and logical next step in our growth as an athletic department." Heidorf went on, "Over the past 3 years student-athletes from California, Washington, Oregon, Texas, Louisiana, Nebraska, Indiana, and Illinois, have all been recruited and committed to becoming Blue Angels."
MMU contests will now come to fans with higher video and audio resolutions, no third-party ads that interrupt play, and will feature live pause and rewind to rewatch any missed action or fantastic plays.
The new relationship with BoxCast will also begin the early stages of expanding the live streaming for both Blue Angels soccer and softball. The slow process may begin with beta-casts this fall and spring for both soccer and softball.
